Peewee: Foes massing up at Pasay to disrupt proclamation
Dismissed Pasay City mayor voiced fears Saturday his proclamation as reelected city mayor may be put on hold, as his foes are "massing up" forces in the city. Trinidad claimed that while his proclamation was due Saturday night, his foes are trying to delay the proceedings by planning to disrupt the event. "Nag-ipon-ipon sila ng tao, siguro guguluhin nila. Yan ang gawain ng talo, ide-delay nila (They are massing up their supporters, likely to disrupt the proclamation. That's what losers do, they try to delay)," he said, in a radio interview. But he said this will not stop him from drawing up his list of priorities, which include increasing the budget for garbage collection and disposal. It was a controversial contract over garbage collection and disposal that started a string of cases that led to Trinidad's suspension and eventual dismissal. However, Trinidad said that with his reelection, the administrative cases against him are deemed dismissed. "Mas matindi ang hatol ng bayan kesa hatol ng Ombudsman (The people's will is stronger than that of the Ombudsman)," he said. Trinidad also said he plans to file charges against those who "wronged" him, though he did not elaborate. "May isasampa akong kaso sa ginawa nilang mali, hindi ito pagganti. (I'll file charges against those who wronged me. This is not vengeance)," he said. - GMANews.TV
