Ayala-led Manila Water Co. Inc. has been prequalified to bid for a sewerage treatment project in Hong Kong. In a statement to the Philippine Stock Exchange, Manila Water said the project involved the designing, building and operating the sewerage treatment works in Lamma Island, Hong Kong. Under the project, which will involve a 10-year contract and an option to extend for five years, two wastewater treatment plants are proposed to be built with a total capacity of more than 4 million liters daily. "Manila Water has teamed up with Jardine Engineering Corp. of Singapore, Fujita of Japan and SUn Fook Kong Group of Hong Kong for this project," the company said. In April, Manila Water announced that it has also prequalified for a six-year water leakage reduction and management contract in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. - GMANews.TV
