'Mayweather is avoiding me' - Amir Khan

Amir Khan has been chasing a big money fight with Floyd Mayweather for many months. So when he heard that the brash American is choosing between Andre Berto and Karim Mayfield for his next opponent, Khan immediately came to the conclusion that Mayweather is dodging him.

"I mean, the first thing is that he must definitely see me as a dangerous opponent if he doesn't want to fight me. It seems like Floyd is definitely avoiding me," Khan told fighthype.com.

"He's all about money, so he knows financially it's the biggest fight out there for him. It's the biggest fight out there for him and it's the most dangerous fight out there for him."

Khan, 28, is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Manny Pacquiao's former foe Chris Algieri last month. Though fans and scribes alike weren't impressed with Khan's performance, he maintains that he deserves to fight Mayweather more than anyone else in the welterweight division.

"Looking at the 147-pound division, no one but me deserves the fight. I mean, you can name other names out there who might deserve the fight, but no one brings the numbers like Amir Khan," says Khan.

"He knows deep down that Amir Khan is going to be a tough fight. It's like he's afraid to even say my name." - RAF, GMA News
