PNP launches new mobile app iSerbis

The Philippine National Police (PNP) launched on Wednesday its latest mobile application iSerbis, an integration of all of its mobile apps, which can be downloaded by the public for free in their gadgets and mobile phones.

Chief Supt. Edwin Jose Nemenzo, director of PNP-Information Technology Management Service, said iSerbis gives the public easier access to PNP assistance.

“The PNP is now at your fingertips, make use of it,” he said in a press conference.

“This is in response to the pronouncement of President Rodrigo Duterte during his first State of the Nation Address for the government agencies to use information technology to reduce red tape and support the administration’s anti-drug campaign.

He said iSerbis can be downloaded through iOS and Google Playstore for free.

The mobile app features infographics, updates on the Project Double Barrel, information on how to report crimes and common modus operandi, emergency hotlines and links to other PNP application.

He said the Itaga mo sa Bato app, 911, and 8888 are integrated in the iSerbis.

“Naintegrate na dito lahat, ito ang compilation of all the mobile application being used by the pnp, all the frontline services being offered to the public,” he said.

He said iSerbis also features processes and documentary requirements of the Firearms and Explosives Office for processing of licenses and permits; the Supervisory Office for Security and Investigative Agencies for licenses on security profession, private security, and detective agencies; the Highway Patrol Program for motor vehicle clearance and alarms; the PNP Recruitment Program; and other clearances.

Nemenzo assured the public that their identify will be protected if ever they report any crime through iSerbis.

“The public is assured that their identity will not be divulged,” he said.

He added that iSerbis also includes the number of the chiefs of police for easy access by the public.

“One of the feature is the PNP directory, it has the official numbers of all the chiefs of police,” he said.

In a message read by Director Napoleon Taas, head of Directorate for Informatiion and Communication Technology Management, PNP chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa said the new app will be a “real great help to our mission in providing faster PNP services.”

“(It would also help in) eliminating criminal activities in making our fellowmen more aware of what they can do in case they are facing some unexpected scenario anywhere,” he said.

He added that iSerbis is only the beginning of the upgrades to be introduced by the ITMS as more technological advances are expected to be delivered in the coming months.

“We will be seeing the integration of the PNP’s disparate information systems starting with the Human Resource Management Information System which is an enterprise grade system. Not far behind would be the development of the General Services Module of the Support to Operations Management Information Systems,” he said.
