PAL to increase flights this holiday season
Philippine Airlines, the country's flag carrier, announced on Tuesday that it is increasing its flights to various international and local destinations in time for the Christmas season. In a statement, PAL said they will be implementing additional flights to the US West Coast, Australia, Bangkok and Singapore starting November 25. "Starting November 25, PAL will add two flights per week between Manila and Los Angeles, while an extra weekly flight between Manila and San Francisco will be operated starting on the same date," PAL said. This will bring the frequency of flights to the US West Coast to 20 flights weekly. Eleven of these flights are between Manila and Los Angeles and nine flights between Manila and San Francisco. Two additional weekly flights will likewise be mounted between Manila and Melbourne/Sydney starting November 26, raising total frequency of flights to Australia to five times a week. For Bangkok and Singapore, three more flights a week for each route will be implemented starting November 30. This will bring PAL's service to Bangkok 10 times weekly, while the service to Singapore will have a total of seventeen flights per week. On the domestic front, PAL will be raising the number of its flights to Butuan to 10 per week. The flag carrier will also add two flights a week each to Bacolod and Cagayan de Oro, two additional flights a week, raising total frequency for each route to 27 times weekly. Frequencies to Legazpi and Puerto Princesa will similarly be increased from seven to 10 flights weekly while Davao and Tacloban receive eight and seven more weekly flights, respectively. - GMANews.TV
