Government agents seized some P1.3 million worth of fake Warner Bros and DC Comics school supplies following a series of raids in Manila's Binondo district this week.

NBI agents led by lawyer Jose Justo Yap of the NBI's Intellectual Property Rights Division (IPRD) seized 6,148 fake items with trademarks of WB and DC characters.

Raided were the sales outlet and stockroom of Susan Rodriguez Trading of Susan Rodriguez a.k.a. Jin Xia Hou at Stall 1G-42 of the 168 Shopping Mall along Sta. Elena Street; and Unit 4S-17, Juan Luna Plaza, Juan Luna Street, in Binondo.

Owners of the raided establishments now face charges of trademark infringement and unfair competition.

The NBI agents placed the establishments under surveillance and conducted test buys to confirm evidence gathered by market research firm Orion Support Inc.
