MANILA, Philippines - A block-time radio commentator linked to the murder of a Davao broadcaster on Christmas Eve in 2007 surrendered to authorities late Thursday.

Radio dzBB reported early Friday that Leonilo Larosa, together with his lawyer Ramon Edison Batacan, went to a local police station after learning that the court had issued an arrest warrant for him.

Larosa is facing murder charges for the killing of Ferdinand "Batman" Lintuan on Dec. 24, 2007.

Last January, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) filed charges of murder and illegal possession of firearms against Larosa.

On Christmas Eve last year, Lintuan had just finished his broadcast on radio station dxGO and was in his car when motorcycle-riding men gunned him down.

A witness identified the 48-year-old Larosa as the gunman, and NBI agents arrested him after finding an unlicensed firearm in his vehicle.

But Larosa was released after posting P80, 000 bail for the illegal weapon’s charge. - GMANews.TV
