DZBB is number one in Mega Manila

DZBB, the flagship radio station of GMA Network, is the number one AM station in Mega Manila for the second quarter of 2014.

This was reported by Nielsen Research in its latest June 2014 Mega Manila radio research report.

DZBB’s total week (Monday to Sunday) audience share was 28.30 percent while its nearest competitor DZMM had a 27.80 percent share.

Third placer DWWW had a 22.50 percent share. DZBB led all AM stations from Monday to Friday with a 29.40 percent audience share followed by DZMM at 27.50 percent and DWWW at 20.40 percent.  Radio listenership is highest during weekdays.

The Nielsen report identified the highest-rating DZBB weekday programs as “Umaga Na Balita Na” (4-5 a.m.), “Dobol B Balitang Balita” (5-6 a.m.), Dobol A sa Dobol B (10-11 a.m.), and Easy Easy Lang (11 a.m. to noon). Radio listening levels are highest in the morning.

According to RJ Seva, GMA’s assistance vice-president for radio sales, “DZBB is strongest where it counts – in the morning.”

On the other hand, DZBB new operations manager Norilyn Temblor declared that DZBB’s number one ranking is “the result of the 24-7 efforts of everyone in the station to gain and keep the trust and respect of its listeners and even of its competitors.”

However, she added that “much more has to be done to sustain the station’s long-term position.”

GMA Chairman and CEO Felipe L. Gozon expressed the network’s gratitude to DZBB’s listeners worldwide for their confidence and support. “DZBB’s performance further encourages us to continue our never-ending efforts at providing our countrymen excellent world-class broadcasting in radio, television and all other platforms.”
