The half-a-month's worth of rainfall that Tropical Storm Mario and the enhanced southwest monsoon dumped on the country last Sept. 19 was too much for the mountains of Rizal to hold.Manny Vargas of DZBB documented the flooding in Eastern Metro Manila and Rizal with these videos.
The Wawa River, which is connected to the Marikina River, swelled and brought massive flooding in Metro Manila.

Houses below the Batasan-San Mateo bridge threatened to be washed away by the strong current.
Livestock and pets had to be evacuated also.
The current was still strong early Saturday morning in Ortigas avenue extension.
