Martin Nievera: 'Big Mouth, Big Band'

The Concert King Martin Nievera had a blast working as Mama Belle’s co-host in Sikat sa Barangay this afternoon.

What makes your latest album different from the ones you have done before?

“Dahil ‘yung songs na pinili namin ‘yung songs sa favorite bands ko noon ‘yung hindi pa ako singer so these are the songs I grew up with from the big bands during my time.”
 
What is your favorite song in the album?

“Siguro I like ‘yung Dust in the Wind.”
 
After all these years in the industry, how do you maintain your high level of creativity and passion for your job?

“I still love what I do. Talagang sobra akong in-love sa job ko. Also what we do in Polyeast Record is we do an album of originals and then we take a break. We do like the Big Mouth Big Band album where we do remakes tapos balik sa originals uli.”
 
What do you do when you have time to relax?

“Wow! That’s hard because I can never relax pero I like to watch mga TV series ‘yung tuloy-tuloy like Scandal I’ll watch two seasons straight. These are the things I don’t have time for I’ll re-arrange the furniture in my house, change the color of all the rooms ‘yung mga [things] you take for granted.”

“I’m forever grateful to all the fans, to all the radio listeners, to all the televiewers to all the people who go on my Twitter and my Facebook everybody who has any kind of interest in what I do since 32 years ago hanggang ngayon sobra akong grateful and I hope that I’ll  be able keep making everybody proud and represent my country well.”
