Grammy-rific Songs of 2015

By AEDRIANNE ACAR

Music’s biggest night is fast approaching and on February 8, the world’s best musicians will come together to celebrate the brightest stars of the music industry.

For this week, we will pay tribute to the men and women nominated in this year’s Grammy awards as we feature their songs in Mood Music.

On top of our list is Bono’s band U2 and their album ‘Songs of Innocence. The Irish rock band is in the running for ‘Best Rock Album.' Check out one of their songs, ‘The Miracle (Of Joey Ramone).'

Iggy Azalea and British singer Sam Smith are going head-to-head in two categories. The two are nominated for ‘Best New Artist.'

Listen to their smash hits 'Fancy' and 'Stay With Me.'

Bootylicious diva Meghan Trainor is making a strong case to grab one of the awards in this year’s Grammys. Can she shake her way to win either ‘Record of the Year’ or ‘Song of the Year,' or maybe both?

Still, no one can deny her ode to body positivity ‘ All About That Bass’ is a phenomenal hit whether she wins or not!

The minions' dance anthem ‘Happy’ also earned Pharrell Williams a nomination for Best Pop Solo performance. Meanwhile, another English singer, Ed Sheeran, is up against Coldplay, Katy Perry and Ariana Grande for ‘Best Pop Vocal Album.'

Currently, Sheeran's sweet and soulful ballad, ‘Thinking Out Loud,’ is the number one song in 'The Big Ten' countdown for two consecutive weeks now.
