Brad Go is ready to spread some love

By AEDRIANNE ACAR

Chicago-born Pinoy singer Brad Go was Mama Belle’s exclusive date in 'Sikat Sa Barangay' for its Thursday episode (February 12).

Learn more about the dashing musician and his debut album, ‘The Hush Project’.

Warning ladies, he is a hottie!

Can you tell us about your album 'The Hush Project' and what is it about?

“The album is called 'The Hush Project' and it is an album of nine songs, eight of which were inspired by different countries around the world. I travelled to [different countries] and interviewed couples or individuals about their love story and then took [those stories] and turned it into a song.”

Why did you decide to come to the Philippines and try it out here?

“I’ve actually been to the Philippines quite a bit in the past two years. And every time I come back, the response that I get here when I play my music live has been awesome! So, I come back for that reason. And I love it; the crowd is always great.”

At what age did you discover that you want to take up singing as a career?
“I’ve been playing piano since I was, maybe, eight years old. Took lessons for ten years and then I branched out. I taught myself how to play the guitar and then when I was in college, I joined a cover band and that was when I really started  to see how fun music could be when you play it live.”

Brad added that he decided to become a singer when he started to get bored doing his old job in New York. “But it wasn’t until I was working in New York and became a musician on the side that I realized, 'Ok I’m [kind of] getting sick of my day job and I want to do something for myself,'” he shares.

Can you give at least three of your musical inspirations?

“If I’d name three artists, I would say definitely the Beatles, definitely Elton John, and then another artist I listened to a lot in high school was Ben Folds Five. Those three are probably my biggest influences and inspiration.”

What is your main goal for 2015?

“Well, my biggest goal for this year was to finish this album (The Hush Project) which has already been done through MCA and now really just promote the album here [in the Philippines] and see where it goes; and then go back to New York and promote it there as well.”
