After 30 years in the media industry, veteran journalist and broadcaster Arnold Clavio of GMA7 celebrates this milestone with the book, “Iskets, Piktyur at Tula” and a sample of his sketches and artwork on Aug. 5, 2017.

Clavio, known for his hard-hitting yet entertaining reporting style on TV and radio, had always been an artist since his elementary (T.Yangco Elementary School) and high school days (Dr. Juan Nolasco High School) both in Tondo, Manila. The young Arnold would often doodle and sketch on anything he could get his hands on, be it torn pages of a notebook, letter envelopes or tissue papers.

Everything he saw was inspiration – the leaves on a tree, a strolling young lady, and even small birds.

However, his natural talent is not only limited in doing strokes but also through his poetry skills. Starting with small ditties that he could form in mere minutes. His play on the Tagalog language is exemplary and he could write on any and all topics with nary a sweat on his brow.

On his pearl anniversary, Clavio will showcase several of his sketches and books in an intimate gathering of friends and family. Several of the sketches will also feature Clavio’s poems on varied subjects from the highs of love and the lows of loneliness to the splendor of nature.

“Iskets, piktyur at tula” will be available soon at all branches of National Bookstore.
