Mike Enriquez looks forward to another 23 years with GMA-7

Award-winning ‘Imbestigador ng Bayan’ Mike Enriquez is going to stay where his heart belongs, after formally renewing his ties with GMA Network this Tuesday morning, February 13.

Present during the contract signing were GMA Network Chairman and CEO Felipe L. Gozon, President and COO Gilberto R. Duavit, Jr., EVP and CFO Felipe S. Yalong, and SVP for News and Public Affairs Marissa L. Flores.

Enriquez, who has been a Kapuso since 1995, is looking forward to doing more exciting projects with the number one TV network in the Philippines.

The veteran broadcast journalist shared, “Tuloy-tuloy lang ang trabaho, tuloy-tuloy lang ang pagbibigay ng serbisyong totoo ‘tsaka lalo na sa mga panahon ngayon maraming-marami pang mga bagong pagbabagong magaganap sa GMA, kaya exciting na nakapirma naman tayo ng panibagong kontrata. At exciting harapin ang kinabukasan, ang future dahil maraming-marami pang magaganap, marami pang mga proyekto na dapat gawin.”

The 24 Oras main anchor also talked about how much he values the trust and confidence that his fellow Kapuso and televiewers have put in him.

“Pagtitiwala lang ‘yan sa isa’t-isa natin lahat pare-pareho mga Kapuso na nakabase sa pagtitiwala natin sa isa’t-isa mga taga-GMA na nakabase naman sa pagtitiwala sa atin ng mga Kapuso natin tagapanood at tagapakinig. Ang lahat ng ito ay para sa kanila, hindi ito para sa atin, hindi ito para sa GMA. Para ito sa mga nakikinig, ‘tsaka sa mga nanonood.”

For his part, Atty. Felipe Gozon lauded Enriquez for his unquestionable integrity and considers him a gem in the GMA News and Public Affairs group as one of its top newscasters.

He said, “Alam mo si Mike [Enriquez] sa tingin ko if I recall correctly siya na ang pinakamatagal na naging TV newscaster dito at well hindi ko na ime-mention ‘yung radio anchor. So ang importance niya eh dahil sa palagay natin dito sa GMA eh siya na ang pinakamagaling na TV newscaster at radio anchor.

“Pero ang pinakaimportante sa lahat, ang integrity at fairness ni Mike whether on cam or off cam eh, unquestionable! Kaya tayo masayang-masaya na nag-renew na naman si Mike dito sa atin.”

Enriquez is currently the President of Radio GMA. He holds the distinction of being the only Asian and only Filipino to win the Best Newscaster award in the Asian Television Awards.
