Vehnee Saturno signs publishing partnership with GMA Records

Multi-awarded songwriter Vehnee Saturno signs a contract with GMA Records for the publishing of his 27 hit songs.

“Tuwang-tuwa ako. Finally, meron kaming magiging partnership, as in nag-sign ako ng publishing agreement with GMA. 27 songs for the period of [6] years, mga hit songs ko na sila ‘yung unang nagkaroon ng interest of signing it under their publishing,” Vehnee said in an interview with Lhar Santiago.

Present at the contract signing were GMA Network Chairman and CEO Felipe L. Gozon, President and COO Gilberto R. Duavit, and GMA Records Managing Director Rene Salta. GMA Records A & R Manager Kedy Sanchez was also present to witness the occasion.  

Vehnee claimed that the big guns from the Kapuso record label were instrumental in realizing the partnership.

He recalled, “Nung tinawagan ako nina Rene at Kedy, super happy dahil for a songwriter na bibigyan ka ng ganitong opportunity, isa-sign up ‘yung mga existing catalogue mo, and gagamitin nila doon sa mga programa ay napaka-happy ang feeling being a songwriter. Napakasarap, napakasaya.”

“Alam naman natin TV is the most powerful place para maging sikat at makilala ‘yung mga songs,” he added.

Meanwhile, Mr. Salta is both excited and confident about the partnership with the renowned songwriter.

He explained, “Para nang meron library ng teleserye theme songs ‘yung GMA Network. So, they’ll just inform us then we can license it to GMA, the 27 songs of Vehnee Saturno.

“Nasa hall of fame na siya, so very good for us GMA Records and GMA Network na magkaroon ng partnership with Vehnee Saturno, getting his quality songs that GMA Network and GMA Records can exploit. Isa siya sa mga living legends. Living legend siya eh. Iilan lang sila, ‘yung mga elite songwriters dito sa Pilipinas ang ‘yung isa nga ay naging partner natin,” he continued.

Among Vehnee’s hit songs are ‘Kung Malaya Lang Ako,’ ‘SA Aking Panaginip,’ ‘Nasaan,’ ‘Awit Kay Inay,’ and ‘Lumuhod Ka Sa Lupa.’
