Andre Paras has left University of the Philippines-Diliman but he has remained proud of his original collegiate basketball team.
Earlier this year, Andre transferred to San Beda
due to his hectic work schedule with the GMA drama series The Half Sisters.
He also changed the degree that he is pursuing from Film to Business Management.
Andre said his departure from the UP Men’s Basketball Team didn’t become an issue between him and his teammates.
He admitted that his decision was difficult but he is happy for the Fighting Maroons and their achievements.
“And now, they won against Adamson. I’m really proud ‘coz that’s just the start. Maybe they just really need an extra motivation. So I’m pretty sure tuloy tuloy na rin ‘yun kasi I know all their players very well,” he said.
“They’re all talented. They play as a team,” he added.
These days, Andre is mostly occupied with training in the morning and taping for the rest of the day. But he wants to keep up with his former teammates and pay them a visit.
For now, he sends them this message: “Congratulations! They've been working really hard and they really deserve the win. I’m pretty sure [there are] more wins to come. Just stay humble and stay focused on the game.”
