Kapuso actor Gil Cuerva was present at a media conference last July 17 regarding their workshop with renowned acting coach Anthony Bova.
While there, GMANetwork interviewed Gil about his development as an actor since his start in showbiz in the 2017 series My Love From The Star.
According to him, "I would say that I did improve, not only I guess in acting, but the bigger improvements come from my development as a person. Being exposed to more artists, to more social issues, to more people, to experiencing more things due to the industry, all of these have contributed to my growth and development as a person. I think that's the more important improvement."
Gil will train in the new empowerment workshops under Anthony Bova. What lessons does he hope to learn from this?
"Ako kasi, siyempre baguhan pa lang ako, I'm still new to the craft and so 'di ko rin maiwasan na may times na, lalo na 'pag mabigat 'yung eksena, natatakot pa rin ako. So I want to be able to, hopefully after these workshop sessions, I'm able to develop that bravery or that courage to be able to just really jump into scenes. — If nakita ko na I have to act very vulnerable, gusto ko hindi na ako takot," he answered.
The young Kapuso actor is well-known for his admirable height, alabaster skin, fit body, Chinito good looks, and signature long black hair. We were curious to find out if there is any role that would make him have his hair cut short.
"What role would make me cut my hair? Siyempre let's say I'm a soldier, kailangan military haircut, wala namang long-haired soldier unless you're a girl. If it's really required. I'm open naman also to having it cut a bit, but if it really has to be short, then I'm open to it because it's my profession. As long it goes with the right role."
