Young kapuso vocalist bags WCOPA Grand Champion Award

GMA Network artist Joshua Pineda took home several honors from the esteemed World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA) held on July 22 in Los Angeles, California.

The 12-year old performer won the Junior Grand Champion Performer of the World and the Junior Grand Champion Vocalist of the World awards, besting hundreds of competitors from different countries around the world.

Apart from the two grand championship awards, he also received a Gold Medal in the Male Vocal Broadway category, and four Silver Medals in the Male Vocal Gospel, Male Vocal Open, Male Vocal Pop, and Male Vocal R&B/Soul/Jazz categories.

Pineda is managed by star builder and “Master Showman” German Moreno. He regularly appears in the late night show “Walang Tulugan with the Master Showman,” sitcom “Pepito Manaloto”, as well as in other entertainment programs of the Kapuso Network.
The WCOPA is an annual competition participated in by 75,000 aspirants from 40 countries who audition for a spot to compete in a grand battle of talents staged in the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in Los Angeles, California.
