Los Angeles-based beauty influencer Sona Gasparian has heard the dilemma of women who are currently working from home due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since everybody has no choice but to stay indoors, most meetings are being done via video calling apps. Some women feel worried about how to present themselves better virtually 'cause they, obviously, don't want to look like a mess even if they're working remotely.
This led Sona to make an easy and quick makeup tutorial on her YouTube channel, perfect for web conferencing. Here's a step-by-step guide for your convenience.
The first step to achieving a natural-looking makeup is by concealing blemishes using a concealer. But if you don't have one, a high-coverage foundation will do.
Put concealer underneath the eyes and on the areas that have breakouts, and buff it in place with a brush.
Make sure that the concealer you are wearing matches your skin tone because this will serve as your base.
Apply bronzer on the high points of the cheeks and jawline. Don't forget to apply a soft layer of bronzer on the eyelids, too, because this will serve as the eyeshadow.
If you want to give your face a subtle depth and warmer tone, choose a matte bronzer for a sharper color.
Add instant life to your cheeks with a peach blush. Any blush color will do, but take note that it is advisable to maintain a fresh face for a more professional look.
Smile and apply blush on the apples of the cheeks and extend it on the bridge of the nose for a drunk blush vibe, mimicking a natural flush.
Our goal here is to define the shape of the eyebrows and not to sharpen the eyebrows.
So instead of using an eyebrow pencil, brush your brows with a brow mascara for a hair-like stroke finish.
Add volume to your eyelashes by applying one to two layers of mascara. You may skip the bottom lashes if you don't want them to end up looking like a spider web.
Use a brown shade if you want a more natural look for your lashes.
If you're a fan of vibrant lipstick color, then it's time to shelve it for the meantime. Try on nude or mauve lip gloss shade for the perfect pop of color, fitting the office environment.

Even though you have more time to prepare since you're working from the safety and comforts of your home, it does not mean that you can go for bold, heavy makeup.
As Sona said, remember to keep your look light and simple because at the end of the day, you are still in a professional setting. Looking presentable is key.
