Rumors lead him to Alvin, and despite the latter’s initial refusal to give up the child, Lukas succeeds in taking his son from Alvin. After a confrontation with his cousin Rose, Lukas decides to leave his old house and look for Raquel. But Raquel has been wandering unfamiliar streets and meets the wanted criminal Gemma. Raquel is forced to give Gemma her wedding ring for food and water.
A raid of Gemma’s junkyard ensues after the police spot her and Raquel together. Lukas joins them after learning Raquel is involved. The search becomes dangerous: Gemma is caught in the fire, while Raquel escapes. However, Lukas assumes Raquel died when he recognizes their wedding ring on a corpse’s finger. Although aggrieved, Lukas vows to raise Joshua the best way he can.
