Troy Montero and Aubrey Miles's family can be considered a modern one because before they met, Aubrey already has a son named Maurice with her ex-partner JP Obligacion.

But for Troy, it doesn't matter whether Maurice is his biological child or not, he is still his son.

"I never really classify or say he's my stepson, or anything like that. For me, he's mine, he's my son," Troy proudly shared to GMANetwork.com.

"It just so happens that he has a dad, he has a biological dad, which we're all very, very close [with], which is a good thing.

"It's super important to him that all of us are civil, and more than civil. 'Yung graduation [niya], we're all there together to support him.

"I would never consider or really label it. Ako, for me, I have three kids, 'yun lang."

Aside from Maurice, Troy and Aubrey have two other children, Hunter Cody and Rocket, who is on the autism spectrum.

"Ako, having somewhat a modern family, hindi siya mahirap. It's almost like, it is what it is, you just deal with it whether having, let's say, a stepson, having a daughter who's on the autism spectrum, it's not a challenge for me, it's just life," he said.

"I love them with all my life, and I just feel that they're the best gifts in the world. So, for me, that's all I know. I just know my wife, my kids, it's just a blessing that they're there and we're all together. I never forget that every day."
