Being a stepmom is not always as evil as what we see in movies and fairytales.
Take, for example, Miss Universe 1999 first runner-up Miriam Quiambao, who became an “instant mom” when she married Ardy Roberto in March 2014.
Ardy, a businessman and author, has a son named Joshua with his late wife and Miriam gladly takes up the role of being a second mother.
In an interview with asianparent.com, the former beauty queen shared what she learned about being a stepmom to Joshua. Miriam explained, “I learned to set aside my own selfishness and learned how to share my time, resources, and to be sensitive to others' needs.”
