Maxene Magalona marked the 17th year of Francis Magalona's passing with several throwback photos.

Actress Maxene Magalona shared a few throwback photos of her and her Pinoy rap icon father Francis Magalona to mark the 17th year of his passing.

Maxene posted several casual pictures of her and Francis from her childhood on her Instagram account.

One photo shows Maxene on Francis' shoulders, while the other has her hanging off his arm.

"Grief is love with no place to go," she wrote.

On another post, Maxene says that she continues to honor her father's legacy by trying her best everyday.

"17 years today. Keeping your legacy alive here on earth by doing my best to embody the values you lived by. I know love and peace because of you," she wrote.

Francis Magalona was diagnosed with leukemia in 2008 and passed away on March 6, 2009.

He is credited as the "King of Philippine Rap" and the "The Father of Pinoy Hip Hop" due to his contributions to original Pinoy music.

Meanwhile, Maxene was among the Filipinos stranded in Dubai due to rising tensions in the Middle East.

She assured her followers that she and her partner Geoff Gonzalez are both safe.

Maxene also wished "healing and peaceful energy" to all Filipinos in Dubai and the Philippines who might have been affected by the ongoing situation.
