Actor Alfred Vargas stepped away from the entertainment industry in 2013 to run as a congressman for the then newly created 5th district of Quezon City that encompasses the Novaliches area.
Alfred, who is now on his third term as a congressman, may have had to step away from the industry that he loved but he surely didn't step away from being a good husband to his wife Yasmine Espiritu-Vargas, and a role model to his three children Alexandra Milan Vargas, Aryana Cassandra Vargas, and Alfredo Cristiano Vargas IV.
During the COVID-19 health crisis, Alfred needed to self-quarantine after being exposed to one of his colleagues in the House of Representatives who tested positive for COVID-19. Thankfully, Alfred had shown no symptoms after 14 days of self-isolation in their house in Quezon City.
A month after his exposure to COVID-19 and his self-isolation, Alfred revealed that his daughters, Alexandra and Aryanna, also made their fair share of helping fellow Filipinos.
In an Instagram post in May 2020, Alfred revealed that Alexandra and Aryana donated their personal savings to give some masks to healthcare workers in the National District Hospital and Bernardino Hospital for their first project.
In his Instagram post, he wrote, “Even Alexandra and Aryana relate to the difficult times we are now in and the sacrifices made by our frontliners.”
For their second project, Alexandra and Aryana made 189 face shields for frontliners, with the guidance of their loving mother, Yasmine Vargas.
For their third project, Alexandra and Aryana cooked meals for the frontliners. Because of his daughters' actions during the COVID-19 health crisis, Alfred said, “We can definitely teach our kids a thing or two about compassion and generosity during ECQ.”
“Any kind of help, no matter how big or small, goes a long, long way.”
Although he is busy serving his constituents, Alfred doesn't forget to take care of his family and still do their family traditions. In fact, Alfred has already released their family pictures ahead of Christmas 2020.
