DJ Onse shares the challenges of being a bisexual dad

Pride Month is still in full swing, and in one of the more recent episodes of the vodcast Your Honor, openly bisexual entertainer DJ Onse shared some of the challenges he faces as a father who is also part of the LGBTQIA (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and asexual) community.
After Your Honor host Tuesday Vargas brought up the fact that DJ Onse is the father to a child, he then went on to talk about what he doesn't particularly like about being a bisexual dad, which is being asked if his son, Aldeo, is biologically his.
“Ang hindi ko lang gusto kapag nalalaman nilang may anak ako is “Sa'yo? Ikaw gumawa? Semilya mo?” Nao-offend ako kasi being a parent, hindi naman importante kung ikaw ang gumawa,” he shared.
As explained by DJ Onse himself, gay and bisexual men are still capable of engaging in intercourse with women.
“Common misconception na palagi nilang tinatanong na sa iyo ba talaga na parang hindi nila naiintindihan na tinitigasan rin naman ang bakla, kaya din naman naming ipasok doon. So bakit kailangan ulitin 'yung 'Sa'yo? Ikaw ang gumawa? Biological?'” he explained.
He also shared an incident where an award-winning actress asked whether his son was his own or adopted.
“There was a time na merong artista, sikat na artista ito, naging best actress sa mga award-giving bodies na nakasama ko sa mga show. Nung sinabi ko sa kanya na may anak ka pala, tinanong kung sa akin, ang sinagot ko is sa akin kasi I had girl relationship in the past. Sabi niya, buti na lang na biological ang anak mo kasi kapag ampon, hindi mo alam kung ano ugali niyan,” he recalled.
“Nasaktan ako in a way. Kunwari, anak ng criminal, inampon mo, it doesn't mean na paglaki niya criminal din siya. Hindi ba't ang ugali nang magiging isang tao eh manggagaling sa kung sinong nagpapalaki,” he continued.
DJ Onse also recounted an incident during a school activity where he was asked an invasive question about his son.
“Na experience ko na din 'yung um-attend ako ng events, kasama ko 'yung anak ko, pinakilala ko 'yung anak ko, my son that time was six, and then lumapit siya, anak mo, bakla din?” he said.
