John Estrada and Priscilla Meirelles

“I'm in peace. Halata ba?”

Priscilla Meirelles laughed after greeting the entertainment media at the press conference prepared for her by Viva Artists Agency yesterday, June 13.

The event marked Priscilla's showbiz comeback, and she's now doing it full-time, under the co-management of VAA and Aster Amoyo.

“I think now is the perfect time. I believe in God's perfect time, and I think I'm not only prepared emotionally, but also physically and mentally.

“When it comes to the language, in terms of Tagalog, magaling na ako. Confident ako na kayang-kaya ko, hindi na ako puwedeng mabenta. Dahil diyan, feeling ko perfect talaga itong time,” she told the press, including GMANetwork.com.

The Brazilian beauty queen-turned-actress also mentioned that she's open to accepting any role.

“Kahit ano. Sabi ko sa kanila kanina, I'm ready to work. Please do make me work a lot,” she said in jest.

Then, she continued, “Hindi ako mapa-select kung anong puwede. Kahit anong sa tingin ng writers na bagay sa akin, I'm willing to explore. Pero na-experience ko before yung medyo kontrabida, yung medyo okay o goody-goody. Na-experience ko rin maging nanay nito o nanay ni ganito.

“Sa akin, kung ano ang bagay na role, we can adjust. I believe na kahit mayroon na akong anak, kahit hindi na ako masyadong bata… pero nowadays, with makeup and wardrobe, we can actually transform. As long as bagay sa akin, or sa tingin nila perfect sa akin, e, i-explore ko talaga.”

“Former husband”

Now that she's going full-time in showbiz, one of the first questions Priscilla received was if she consulted her estranged husband, John Estrada, about it.

She replied, “No, I did not. But I did inform [him], not because it's a career move for me, but it's really because I brought my daughter with me. I informed him, but I did not consult, I did not ask permission. We are no longer in that kind of setup.”

Priscilla said that she's also ready to answer questions involving John in future media gatherings.

She explained. “Well, it comes with the territory because he's my former husband. We shared a life many years. We're married for 14 years and have been together for 18. We have a daughter, so we're co-parenting.

“There's no bad blood between us in terms of what he's doing out of his life and what I'm doing out of my life. There were boundaries that were placed. I think, as long as we respect that… I respect that because I'm the one who put those. And whatever we are doing in terms of our former arrangement, we'll deal with that in due time.”

Now that she's single, is Priscilla open to a new relationship?

“As long I'm officially no longer married, why not coconut? I believe I'm still in good age to develop romantic relationships. So, yes, I'm very open to that on the day that I'm no longer somebody's wife.”
