Jewel Mische sings to daughter

Jewel Mische has chosen a Filipino lullaby to sing her daughter Emrie to sleep.

StarStruck Season 4 alumna Jewel Mische has shared a sweet video of her singing a lullaby to her baby daughter Emrie.

Jewel softly sang "Sa Ugoy ng Duyan" to put her 2-month-old daughter to sleep.

She says that the song calms down both of her children.

"Not a singer but I love singing to my babies. Part of my repertoire includes: 'Jesus Loves Me' and 'Ugoy Ng Duyan'. Never fails to calm or put Aislah & Emrie to sleep," she shares.

She also provided a translation of the song for her American friends.

"Those good old days, I pray won't fade⁣
When I was young and in Mother's care⁣
Oh, to hear dear Mother's lullaby again⁣
The song of love as she rocked my cradle.." she wrote.

Emrie or Emerald Jade was born on April 3 and is the second daughter of Jewel and her husband Alex Kurzer.

They also have a daughter named Aislah Rose.

The lullaby "Sa Ugoy ng Duyan" is a collaboration between National Artists Lucio San Pedro who composed the music and Levi Celerio who wrote the lyrics.

It is one of the most enduring songs in Philippine music and has been interpreted and recorded by many Filipino singers including Pilita Corrales, Lea Salonga and Regine Velasquez.
