Even at 43, actress Sunshine Cruz can still pass as an older sister to her three teenage daughters.

But her love for them as a mother is evident as seen in Sunshine's heartfelt post for her eldest daughter Angelina's 19th birthday.

The celebrity mom got emotional as she celebrated her daughter's birthday on September 24, Thursday.

In an Instagram post, Sunshine wrote, "Happy 19th Birthday my beautiful @angelinaisabele.

"Emotional while editing this... Posting this in advance cause work is early tomorrow."

She continued, "Angelina has always been very close to me. I sometimes see myself in her. Not just physically but she reminds me of my personality, quiet but she can also be scary when angry.

"She's my eldest daughter but she will always be my baby girl.

"Anak, I am always here for you. We may sometimes have misunderstandings but it doesn't mean I love you less. Know that, I am very proud of you and I will always be here for you, to guide and protect you."

Sunshine also expressed her regret in not being with her Angelina for her birthday.

"Sorry I won't be present on your special day. Mom needs to work but I promise to make it up to you! I love you so much! Happy 19th Birthday my beautiful Angelina!"

Sunshine's closeness to her daughters is seen in their social media posts.

Last year, Sunshine showed off Angelina's elegant prom look which she helped create.

She was also one proud mom as Angelina graduated from high school and moved on to college.

Sunshine also defended her daughters from her schoolmates who harrassed and sexualized them.

The actress has three daughters with former spouse Cesar Montano: Angelina, Sam, and Chesca.
