“I can honestly say I am content and happy with this new life away from the limelight,” pens Descendants of the Sun PH actress Rich Asuncion as she marks her first year living in Australia with her family.
Dated March 9, 2021, the former beauty queen shared images of her new life in the Land Down Under and declared that it has been “one of the best decisions” she's ever made.
Rich said, “One year na kami sa Australia. Around this time last year, we decided to move here. It was, indeed, one of the best decisions I've ever made!
“Leaving everything behind to face all the uncertainties wasn't an easy feat. Pero dahil kasama ang pamilya, mas naging matibay at matatag.”
She added, “Now, I can honestly say I am content and happy with this new life away from the limelight. A new career, new adventures, new hope! #alwayschoosefamily #mudsquad.”
Since moving to Australia in 2020 in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, Rich has been busy slowly building a new life with her family. She even unabashedly shared that she works as a waitress. Rich even enrolled in an online class to get a degree in Early Childhood Education and Care.
She shared in a post in June, “Nung una nahirapan ako tanggapin pero na-realize ko ngayon, ano naman ang masama dun?
"Part pa rin naman siya ng Tourism course na kinuha ko sa U.P. at wala akong karapatan mag-inarte kasi nabigyan ako ng panibagong chance to start anew.
“To be able to survive through this is already a blessing. As hard as it may seem, look for the silver lining. Hold on, and say, 'I am still a champion.'”
Besides working as a waitress, the actress was also offered a full-time job at a daycare where her daughter, Isabella Brie Mudie, attends. She and Benj have also bought their future home in Australia.
Rich concluded, “Life is indeed a journey full of highs and lows, but you should never stop moving, and you always keep moving forward.”
