Saab wrote, "When he threw Alexa, his yaya got it and kept it. He got so upset and instead of telling him to stop crying, I just let him express his feelings."

In this part of Saab's post, she tells the reason why it is important to let your children cry and express their emotions.

"This is something I learned about gentle parenting: letting our children cry is very painful for us to hear but we shouldn't suppress their emotions."

She added, "I usually help them process their feelings by verbalizing what I think they feel and why they must be feeling that way."

Part of the process of gentle parenting is giving the child options.

Saab said, "I give them options on something else to do so that they can move on and enjoy the rest of their day."

Saab believes that making the children stop crying makes them think that their emotions are invalid.

"Gone are the days when crying kids are shushed and told "wala 'yun, wala 'yun" to calm them down. This leads them to believe that their feelings are wrong or invalid and this kind of thinking may carry on to their adult life!"

Before she wrapped up her post, she wrote a reminder for everyone who is reading her story.

"THIS IS A REMINDER THAT YOUR FEELINGS ARE VALID"
