Vicki Belo says her father asked her to make Belo name famous

Today, Belo is a certified well-known brand name but once upon a time, no one knew of it. Hence, it has been the dream of the father of celebrity doctor Vicki Belo to make his name famous for one simple reason.

“When I was 12 years old, pumunta sakin 'yung father ko. Sabi niya 'Hija, can you do me a favor?' 'Sure daddy, what?' 'Can you make our name famous?' I said 'Why?' Then he said kasi everybody spells our name wrong, kasi everybody spells Belo, a lot of people, even to this day, B-E-L-L-O. 'Hija, di'ba napakasimple naman? Belo,” Vicki shared in a tell-all interview with vlogger Ogie Diaz.

And so, the young Belo then started etching her surname to everything, not knowing that one day, her scripting would later fortify into a dream come true to make her father's name known.

“I was only 12, lahat ng pencil case, t-shirts ko, lahat nakatatak ng Belo. Stationery ko, stickers, basta lahat may Belo. So I'm so happy that before he passed away, my dad saw that Belo was a recognized name already. So I really was able to make his wish come true,” she said.

Belo is now recognized as among the leading names in the field of beauty and cosmetic dermatology and surgery. Vicki also shared that the idea behind her beauty empire stemmed from her childhood pain of having been given away by her birth parents to her adoptive parents and having to endure the bullying that came with it.
