Pauleen Luna took to Instagram to express her gratitude to her dad, Eugenio "Gene" Luna, who turned a year older yesterday, February 7.

In a post with family photos, Pauleen greeted her dad and described him as "a strong, brave, and protective father."

The Eat Bulaga host also shared some stories about how thoughtful and loving her dad is.

"He would do anything for us in a snap, would give us the best part of our chicken, would pretend he doesn't like the food (even if it's his fave) just so we'd eat a lot but would never be comfortable telling us in person that he loves us. we're his kryptonite," she wrote.

"I remember clearly that he got into a fist fight (do not copy! Not advisable) on the road because this certain truck, ginigitgit kami! He would never let us get hurt! He's never showy and/or affectionate but rest assured that his silence will never be misinterpreted as something else."

Pauleen continued, "I love you for who and what you are dad and I will always honor you and mom! Grateful for your love, dad! Happy birthday."
