Raphael Eigenmann Rogoff: “Cherie was diagnosed with a rare form of endometrial cancer in October of last year."
Few days after Cherie Gil's passing, her son Raphael Eigenmann Rogoff revealed that his mother was diagnosed with endometrial cancer last year.
Rafael took to Instagram and shared a statement that said, “Our family would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to all those who expressed their concern for Cherie during this difficult time.
"It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce that Cherie passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 5th at 4: 48 a.m. EST after a brave battle against cancer.”
He added, “Cherie was diagnosed with a rare form of endometrial cancer in October of last year after deciding to relocate to New York City to be closer to her children. She then underwent treatment at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center of New York," it continued. "She spent her last days surrounded by family and loved ones…"
Along with the statement is his sweet caption, "Words cannot express my love for you, Momma. I'm so proud of you [heart emoji] #macherieamour."
The award-winning actress passed away on August 5, 2022.
