Veteran actress Jean Garcia was all-smiles as she looked back at the GMA Thanksgiving Gala where she was escorted by her 20-year-old son Kotaru Shimizu.

Days after the fundraising event, Kotaro was all over social media because of his resemblance with BTS member V, or Kim Taehyung in real life, while wearing a suit designed by Avel Bacudio and styled by Jay Angeles.

"I'm very happy, I'm proud. Proud mom here!" Jean quipped during the pictorial of her newest GMA Afternoon Prime drama Nakarehas Na Puso.

"Nakakatuwa lang kasi napansin si Kotaro kasi bihira ko naman siya isama sa mga events, e, pero this time kasi, nung nalaman kong may gala night, tinanong ko siya, 'Wala akong kasama. Honey. Baka naman puwedeng i-escort mo ko?'

"Sabi niya, 'Sure, Mama.' Kasi medyo mahiyain, e. So 'yun, nakakatuwa lang na napansin siya at nag-trending siya sa Facebook."

Jean also revealed that Kotaro's confidence was boosted by the positive reaction of the public on him.

"Happy siya, happy naman siya. 'Yung confidence niya, medyo nadagdagan kasi nagustuhan niya 'yung pag-style ni Jay Angeles tapos 'yung ginawa sa kanyang outfit ni Avel Bacudio, ninong niya 'yun, e. Nakadagdag ng confidence 'yun sa kanya nung nandoon na kami, e," she shared.

"Kasi nung una, siyempre mahiyain, kinakabahan pa siya pero nung suot na niya 'yung outfit niya, sobrang gusto niya. So nakadagdag 'yun sa courage para lumakad doon sa red carpet."

Would we see Kotaro enter show business anytime soon?

"Parang wala pa siyang plano, e," Jean revealed. "Wala sa [plano] niya 'yun, parang hindi pa, wala pang [plano]. Actually, mayroon nang inquiries sa kanya and all pero parang hindi pa.

"Malay mo, magbago ang ihip ng hangin, 'di ba? Kasi nag-enjoy siya, e. Nag-enjoy siya doon sa party. Sabi niya, 'Ay, ganito pala. Ang daming artista, Mama.' So, nag-enjoy naman siya so well see."
