Maxene Magalona pays tribute to Francis M on his supposed birthday.

Maxene Magalona commemorated her father Francis Magalona's birthday on October 4.

In a series of Instagram Stories, Maxene showed her father's old class photo, a photo of him flashing the peace sign, and Francis M.'s Spotify artist page.

"Vibe with me and Papa today," she wrote in her Instagram Stories

"Mood. Happy birthday to my old man. #FrancisMForever," Maxene wrote in another post.

Maxene also shared a quote from one of Francis M's hit songs titled "Kaleidoscope World."

Fellow musician, Gloc-9, also took to social media to remember the late Master Rapper. The two worked together on various collaborations including the song "Lando."

Known as the Filipino King of Rap, Francis M. popularized OPM hits such as "Kaleidoscope World," "Mga Kababayan," "Cold Summer Nights," "Tayo'y mga Pinoy," among others. He was also a TV personality and a host on Eat Bulaga! and a VJ for MTV Asia and Channel V.

He passed away in 2009 from acute myeloid leukemia. The National Commission for Culture and the Arts recognized him with a posthumous Presidential Medal of Merit. The award's citation mentioned that it had been given "for his musical and artistic brilliance, his deep faith in the Filipino and his sense of national pride that continue to inspire us."
