Alden Richards in jeans

You wear it any day, anywhere. Here's why jeans are essential for Filipinos.

The fact that jeans has been around for ages, donned by the whole spectrum of gender, from casual wear to high fashion, makes one thing evident: the world loves it.

But for Filipinos? It's actually a lifetime commitment.

If you ask any Filipino what's their safest go-to outfit, it might probably include jeans. It scopes a normal daily outfit to an OOTD for a night out with friends or a date with your S.O. Even pulling off a corporate attire with jeans is now trend!

Alden Richards went for a relaxed white shirt and jeans combo in his Dubai travel.

Even a dapper baby Primo Arellano wearing jeans proved how nifty jeans are.

A pair of jeans is probably the most versatile apparel in our country. In this generation of 'Istagrammable' outfits, options have to be endless for all fashion followers.

But with various types of jeans available in the fast fashion market (e.g. skinny jeans, boyfriend jeans, mom jeans, ripped jeans, and a whole lot more), styling have become stress-free. Creativity shouldn't be a headache and thus we have our beloved blue jeans as a best friend.

The ever so talented Julie Ann San Jose showed us how jeans can do boho.

Kris Bernal stunned everyone with her ripped jeans getup!

It may never cross your mind, but there is another reason why jeans are essential for Filipinos. Considering the tropical weather, it's natural for Filipinos to be contingent on their dependable jeans, whether they seize the day under the heat of the sun or to get cozy yet stay in style on a rainy day.

Furthermore, jeans is culturally embedded in the Filipino lifestyle, according to Obee Ham, the Business Development Head for Retail Dynamics, Inc., the group behind the Manila revival of Girbaud.

“The Philippines is a very casual country. It's innate for Filipinos to wear jeans because our weekends are spent just wearing jeans, and for some, even in corporate attire.

"You can do a lot with it,” Ham told GMANetwork.com in an interview during Marithe Francois Girbaud's press launch last November 23 at Top of the Alpha in AlphaLand, Makati.

Jeans has definitely stood the test of time. It's a fashion article that everyone shares, and thus became a timeless trend that will forever stay in the hearts and permanently reside in the closets of Filipinos.
