Barbie Forteza ups her style game at the GMA Thanksgiving Gala, wearing an immaculate gown and a stunning diamond necklace worth P1.2 million.
Barbie Forteza just proved that she will never be short on style, especially when she's making an appearance at an event as big as the GMA Thanksgiving Gala.
Aside from looking divine in her white Joe San Antonio gown, the primetime actress wore a diamond necklace worth P1.2 million from Luna by Drake. She was, indeed, a vision on the red carpet at the Shangri-La The Fort!
According to stylist Daryl Maat, the inspiration behind Barbie's glam look was Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe, particularly her red carpet look for the premiere of her 1954 American musical comedy-drama film, There's No Business Like Show Business.
The glam team only made a few adjustments to the original design of the gown to address some of Barbie's concerns.
"It was Barbie's idea to shorten the dress to give her more height," Daryl said in a message sent to GMANetwork.com. "Joe San Antonio designed the white dress with a long train and added the ostrich feather boa to give a drama."
For the accessories, they turned to Grace Kelly, the American actress and Princess of Monaco, in her 1955 movie To Catch a Thief, and threw in some local touch for good measure.
"For the accessories, Grace Kelly's To Catch A Thief white ensemble gave us an idea to incorporate a statement necklace from Lvna by Drake Dustin to complete Barbie's look. And to complete the look, we paired it with a Neil Felipp white siren minaudière, He is a Cebu-based designer who recently had a pop up in Isetan Shinjuku Japan. Toni Aviles and her team created her hair and makeup to compliment the outfit."
Comments expressing their love, support, and admiration for Barbie poured in. Interestingly, the talented actress is celebrating her 25th birthday today, July 31. Netizens commented that her Gala look was a fitting "birthday salubong."
Aside from the glitz and glamour, the GMA Thanksgiving Gala also served as a fundraising event for the benefit of GMA Kapuso Foundation.
