Kylie Padilla admits that she used to be insecure about her looks and her weight. But all that changed when Baby Alas Joaquin came into her life.

Kylie Padilla revealed in an exclusive interview with GMANetwork.com that taking a break from her showbiz career has actually given her newfound confidence.

The Kapuso actress is vocal about the challenges that she has faced as a young mom and a homemaker.

Kylie revealed that she actually welcomed her time away from showbiz because it gave her a chance to do some self-reflection and self-discovery.

Kylie admitted that she had dealt with a lot of insecurities. “I was very insecure before I got pregnant. Very, very insecure. Tapos when you get pregnant, you get big, tapos wala kang work. You really have to sit with yourself. Ime-mentally prepare mo ‘yung sarili mo na magkaka-anak ka na so it’s really different.”

It was only after giving birth to her Baby Alas Joaquin that the first-time mommy finally learned to appreciate herself more—imperfections and all. “Nung hindi pa ako buntis, I thought that you have to be skinny to be happy. Pero when I had the baby na, happy pa rin ako. Hindi ko nga alam, ang taba ko na pala pero I was still happy," she added.

As she slowly eases her way back to showbiz, she said she’s working on her fitness mostly for her health through exercise and diet.

Her efforts are gradually paying off. Kylie is happy to say that she's close to gaining back her pre-pregnancy weight.
