Have you ever tried doing yoga on a paddleboard floating on a pool? This is the challenge that Aquanimous Yoga poses.
"Aquanimous Yoga is my coined term for this practice, for this program. It came from the words "aqua" meaning water and then "equanimity" which means balance of mind," explains Lalah de Dios, founder of Aquanimous Yoga.
The boards they use are made in the U.S. and are specially designed for Aquanimous Yoga.
Since the exercises are done while floating on water, it develops balance and stability.
"You're training your core. You're training the smaller muscle groups, postural muscles, supporting muscles. The muscles that you don't usually use on land are activated here on the water," de Dios explains.
Healthy and lifestyle program Pinoy MD challenged yoga enthusiast and Kapuso actress Patricia Tumulak to try Aquanimous Yoga.
