Pia Wurtzbach

There are just a few weeks left before Pia Wurtzbach embarks on her first marathon!

Two months after she announced her intention to join the New York marathon, former Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach is now feeling some jitters.

In her latest post on her Instagram account, Pia honestly revealed that she was getting nervous now that there are less than two months to go before the marathon on November 6. While Pia assured her followers that she has been training every day and is aiming to “finish strong,” she also did not hesitate to ask any marathoner following her to share some tips and advice.

Pia's followers and celebrity friends quickly flooded the comments of her Instagram post with encouragement. Some of the celebrities in the comments include beauty queens Charlene Gonzales, Ayn Bernos, Samantha Bernardo, and Michele Gumabao. Drag Race Philippines judge Jiggly Caliente and actress Maja Salvador also shared encouragement in the comment section.

Pia first announced that she would be joining the New York marathon last July, sharing that has gotten “serious about running,”

Pia also shared that she did not think running a marathon was something she would do until she got COVID-19 over the New Year and she was “sick and tired of being sick and tired.”

Since she started running, Pia shared that she has been able to “feel better,” “sleep better,” and “manage stress better.” She has also been able to go on more than 18 kilometer runs as opposed to the three kilometer runs she “couldn't even finish.”

Pia's upcoming participation in the New York marathon is part of her efforts to better her overall health. Back in December, Pia opened up about her mental health struggles after winning the Miss Universe crown, when she was diagnosed with a generalized anxiety disorder and major depression. Thankfully, the Miss Universe Organization stepped in and arranged for her to get therapy sessions in New York and Los Angeles to help manage her mental health.

Now, aside from running a marathon, Pia has also become an entrepreneur, running Pia's Kitchen with friends Pauleen Luna and Niña Almoro.

Pia is also now in a relationship with Jeremey Jauncey, founder and CEO of Beautiful Destinations.
