Get to know with these extraordinary bakers and satisfy your sweet tooth one cupcake at a time! Read on:

If you find cakes being too much to consume, then cupcakes are your best alternative. They come plain or topped with icing, are easier to hold, and can be eaten while on the go. Kids will love them too, especially when the toppers are their favorite cartoon characters or superheroes.

Whether for yourself or as a gift, grab a box or two from these online sellers:

Baked by Sven

Only founded this year, Baked By Sven is a home-based bakery owned by Janine Tipones. Her bestseller is the Banana Chocolate Chip Cupcake, which is sold for Php210 for a box of 6. The bakery is named after her son Sven, who loved to play pretend baking and cooking. She also sells blueberry cheese cupcakes, chocolate ganache cupcakes, and almond brownies.

The Cake Project Manila

In 2014, Xyra Menodiado of The Cake Project Manila left her corporate job after 10 years to concentrate on baking. A single mom to a six-year-old boy, Xyra makes everything from scratch and uses a different ingredient for her fondants.

"Mainly I am using pastillas as fondant, not the usual cake wherein marshmallow po ang ginagamit. Mine is somehow milky because it's pure pastillas," she explains.

Her 2D pastillas cupcakes are sold at Php75 each.

The Pink Topaz

Like most home-based sellers, Princess Saja started baking as a hobby. "I would bake goodies at home and bring some to work. I used to just share them to my family and friends until one co-worker suggested I start selling."

She adds, "I'm like a go-to baker for my friends who need cupcakes with very short notice. Usually, bakers need a lead time of at least two weeks for orders. But with me, so long as I have available supplies and my schedule permits it, I accept short-notice cupcake orders. There was even a time I accepted an order placed the evening before the requested delivery date."

Even with no formal training, she was able to formulate the recipe for her signature moist chocolate cupcake, which you can get either with a buttercream frosting (Php 250 a dozen) or fondant topper (Php300 a dozen).

Anelicious Desserts

Ane Benitez baked the cake, cupcakes, and brownies for her son's first birthday party, and little did she know that Anelicious Desserts will start from there.

"Before the party ended, a lot of people were approaching and asking me where I bought the cupcakes and brownies. I told them that it was I who personally baked them and there were a few friends who asked how they can order."

She recalls, "I never imagine myself that I can do baking. As I pass by different bakeshops, the simple cake that I love is very expensive, as well as the brownies and cookies that my husband loves, too. So I thought of a cost-effective way on how to give my kids cakes or brownies not only on their birthdays but in all other special occasions."

Anelicious Desserts' chocolate cupcakes are sold at Php35 a piece, but are also available in boxes of 6 (Php200) and 12 (Php350).

Keilah's Treats

Before making cupcakes, Louise Atayan-Ylagan was creating dream cakes or the trending five-layer chocolate cakes in a tin can.

"I started sa dream cake noong sobrang nauso 'yun, since I'm studying din naman may market ako. Then gradually nag-expand ako, nag-try ako ng occasional cakes and cupcakes. Before it was just a hobby for my daughter or kapag may mga eksena sa school niya I pledge to bake things. Nag-start lang ng from time to time may mag-o-order na fellow mommies ko," she shares.

When the bulk orders started coming in, that's when she decided to finally put up the business. "I decided to do it online to expand my prospected clients. Plus, I didn't have to put up a shop, talagang internet lang."

You can get her cupcakes at Php30 each for a minimum of 12 pieces.
