Serve these delicious seafood dishes and their interesting backstory this Noche Buena.

Christmas Eve is just a few days away. If you're already finalizing your list of dishes to serve on Noche Buena, we suggest you include these two seafood dishes from Bulacan: the Hamonadong Sugpo and the Lapu-lapu dela Reyna.

In a recent episode of Pinas Sarap, host Kara David chatted with Bulacan Food Historian and owner of the Bautista Heritage house in Malolos, Mr. Jose Basilidez Bautista.

Their almost 170-year-old heritage house is where Dr. Jose Rizal used to hold meetings to establish the La Liga Filipina. He also revealed that the Hamonadong Sugpo was a favorite pulutan of the frailes.

Kara was amused with the background story of the Hamonadong Sugpo. She remarked, “Espesyal kapag alam mong may istorya yung kinakain mong pagkain. Imagine, baka pati si Jose Rizal kumain rin ng sugpo noon.”

So, if you want to impress your family, friends, and guests this Noche Buena, then serve these two seafood dishes from Bulacan. And don't forget to tell them about the interesting backstory!
