DIY powdered sugar

If you forgot to buy powdered sugar or confectioner's sugar, you can make your own at home. All you'll need are one cup of white sugar and one tablespoon of cornstarch. You just have to mix together the two ingredients in a blender and voila! You'll have a home-made powdered sugar in no time.

Piping bags alternative

If you ran out of piping bags or forgot to buy some, you can use resealable plastic bags and simply put a hole at the tip of it. Be extra careful though when squeezing out icing or whatever ingredient or mixture you're working with, as the makeshift piping bag may get destroyed if you put too much in one go.
