It's that time of the year again when everyone is starting to eat healthy and exercise to get rid of their holiday weight.

Oftentimes, people think that healthy foods are not necessarily the most delicious to eat.

However, there are ways in which we can make our favorite food healthier and still be appetizing. To do so, one must be resourceful and creative.

For example, if you love pasta dishes, you can try substituting pork or beef with seafood, just like what celebrity mom Danica Sotto-Pingris did in a recipe she shared on 'Mars Pa More.'

Danica added a healthy twist to her pasta dish by using tuna chunks, bottled tinapa and the superfood malunggay as ingredients for her seafood recipe.

So, if you received a ton of bottled tuyo or tinapa as presents last Christmas, then this is the perfect way to make use of them, aside from pairing them with rice.

And you don't have to be a culinary expert to cook up this dish because it's so easy. It basically has eight ingredients and seven steps.

So, if you're game to try this, below are the ingredients and procedure on how to make Danica Sotto's quick and healthy Seafood Pasta recipe.

Ingredients:

Procedure:

  1. Sauté the garlic and tomatoes.
  2. Add tuna chunks.
  3. Add bottled tinapa.
  4. Add olives.
  5. Add the cooked pasta and stir until it is evenly coated with sauce.
  6. Add malunggay leaves
  7. You can sprinkle with grated cheese before serving.

Danica says if you don't have olives at home, you can use mushrooms or chopped herbs. She also says that you can also add other leftovers that you'd like to incorporate into your seafood pasta.

Also, if you don't have malunggay leaves, you can use salted egg as substitute.
