
A jjimjilbang is a Korean public bath which is gender segregated. Most will have bathtubs, various heated rooms decked with stones or minerals and even a sleeping area.
You don't have to go all the way to South Korea just to experience going to a jjimjilbang because there is one right here in the metro!
Kapuso actress Catherine Rem visited La Sema Spa and Jjimjilbang in Makati.
"The purpose of this whole sauna naman is to sweat everything off. Lahat ng toxins lalabas sa katawan," she explains as she enters one of the heated rooms.
According to Pinoy MD, the sauna can help relax muscles the muscles and promote faster metabolism.
Next, Catherine visited the ice room which is set at a temperature of -12 degrees Celsius.
"Now, I'm gonna go inside their ice room kasi dapat after sauna papasok kaagad sa ice room to close the pores," she shares.
The extreme change in temperature supposedly improves blood circulation and release endorphins.
