But no feat is achieved without any sacrifices.

In an interview with GMANetwork.com, the actor admits experiencing a knee injury after completing the 42-kilomete run.

“'Yung tuhod ko medyo na-injure pero right now it's recovering.”

The 39-year-old actor, together with his teammates in Team Gotta, also revealed that the run consisted of 16-week preparation every morning.

“Medyo kukunin niya talaga 'yung oras mo, especially sa umaga.

“Ganun naman talaga sa lahat e. Kung meron kang gustong ma-achieve, meron kang isa-sacrifice.

“And for me, oras siya and, of course, a little bit of physical push.”

When asked what's the one thing he learned during the experience, he simply said it boiled down to the camaraderie he shared with his teammates which includes Kim Atienza, Tim Yap, and Gilbert Remulla.

“More than yung na-gain ko na strength and the ability to finish a marathon, it's the value of camaraderie that I have built with my friends who I have trained with.

“Dahil sobrang hirap nun e. Kaya pinupush namin 'yung isa't isa.

“And nakaka-inspire lang, kasi kasama ko 'yung the likes of Kuya Kim na makatapos talaga ng marathon sa mga katulad kong first timer.

“Marami silang tips na iniisip ko kung mag-isa ako, 'di ko talaga magagawa 'yun. Kaya mabuting nandyan sila para gabayan ako.

“Being the youngest of the group I really felt like I was being taken care of and being pampered with some wisdom.”

Now that he's achieved his first marathon run, will he do it again?

“Pero I guess 'yun 'yung exciting about finishing a marathon.

“'Yung, it's a battle with yourself, na kaya mong i-overcome ang lahat ng ito regardless kung gaano kahirap.

“And after completing that parang lahat ng challenges kakayanin mo na kasi natesting mo na 'yung sarili mo.

“Pero immediately after finishing it, siguro naisip ko na baka hindi ko na gagawin.

“Pero the day after nung nahimasmasan na ako, I can honestly say that I'm looking forward to the next marathon.”
