Can malunggay help protect you from the Coronavirus Disease or COVID-19?

Eat or drink malunggay

Malunggay, scientifically known as Moringa oleifera, is dubbed as a miracle vegetable and nature's medicine cabinet. The World Health Organization also considers it as a low-cost health enhancer.

It is rich in Vitamins A, C, E, protein, iron, calcium, phosphorus, phytochemicals, and fiber which makes it a perfect aid in boosting one's immune system.

Department of Health Secretary Francisco Duque even recommended people to include malunggay in their diet in order to have a stronger immune system. “Drink fruit juices rich in Vitamin C. Put malunggay in your soup,” he said in an interview.

Wearing face masks properly

Ever since news of the spread of nCoV broke, people have been panic-buying face masks. While it may indeed give protection, it may also give a false sense of security, especially if one doesn't practice proper hygiene or doesn't know how to wear it properly.

DOH reminded the public that the colored or blue side of the mask should face outwards. The metallic wire should fit snugly over your nose, and the mask should also cover your chin.

Also, when disposing of the mask, do not touch the colored side, because the bacteria and viruses it has filtered are probably resting on that surface. Touch only the earloops when removing your mask and put it straight to the waste bin.

Hope these tips on COVID-19 prevention will be of great help to everyone. And along with these preventive measures, don't forget to stay calm, remain vigilant, and arm yourself with a prayer. Stay safe, everyone!
