Pinoy MD looked into the situation of the Filipinos who returned from Hubei, China.

As the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (CoVID-19) continues its global widespread, strict preventive measures like the 14-day quarantine have been implemented in order to ensure public safety. In fact, 33 Filipinos from Hubei province in Wuhan, China who have been successfully repatriated are currently under quarantine.

Pinoy MD, in its recent episode, looked into the situation of the repatriates and the rescue team who returned from the epicenter of the virus outbreak.

One of them is a Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Rapid Response Team member Richard Delos Santos, who was placed in the Athletes' Village in New Clark City, Tarlac.

The quarantine site has excellent facilities and internet access to help them connect with their relatives. Medical staff is also deployed outside to monitor the repatriates round the clock.

Meanwhile, a Filipino who works as a musician in China planned to fly back to his home country as soon as the COVID-19 hit the news. Fortunately, on February 10, he was able to book a connecting flight from China to the Philippines with a layover in Hong Kong.

Since he was not showing any symptoms upon arrival, he was allowed to conduct a self-quarantine.

“Paalala lang natin na hindi dapat katakutan ang ating mga kababayan na umuwi dito sa ating bansa dahil sila naman po ay considered as persons under investigation - wala hong nag-positibo naman sa kanila so far,” said Connie Sison, the host of Pinoy MD.
