
The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) has partnered with members of the private sector in converting the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex, the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), and the World Trade Center into quarantine facilities for Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) patients.
The project aims to decongest hospitals in Metro Manila, many of which are overwhelmed with the continued influx of COVID-19 patients.
BCDA ensured that the quarantine facilities would be comfortable and complete with 24/7 health monitoring. The sites will be airconditioned and have WiFi connectivity. Plus, the COVID-19 patients and medical frontliners will be provided with free food.

In a Facebook post, BCDA thanked the private companies who worked hand and hand with them in the project.
Other sites that they also plan to convert into quarantine facilities include the Veterans Memorial Medical Center, Quezon City Memorial Circle, Amoranto Stadium, and Quezon Institute in Quezon City; PhilSports Complex in Pasig; Duty Free Philippines in Parañaque; FTI in Taguig City; the Filinvest Tent in Alabang; and, the Philippine Arena in Bulacan.
