WHO illustration for stress management guide

Too much stress can take a toll on your health, especially in this time of the COVID-19 pandemic. Here's how you can manage your stress better, according to the World Health Organization.

Stress can greatly affect people from all walks of life, as its causes vary from personal difficulties, to career-related problems, and even to more serious situations such as war, an economic crisis, or a pandemic.

Although it's always best to address the difficulties that are causing someone to get stressed out, it is equally important for those who are suffering from stress to know how to properly deal with it.

On April 29, the World Health organization has published an illustrated guide to stress management titled 'Doing What Matters in Times of Stress: An Illustrated Guide'.

The 132- page illustrated guide aims to provide practical skills for coping with stress for people experiencing it, regardless of their circumstances.

There are five main topics in the illustrated guide, namely: Grounding, Unhooking, Acting on Your Values, Being Kind, and Making Room.

All of these are discussed in detail in the book. Plus, audio exercises are also available for download.

So, if you think you've been overwhelmed by stress lately, you should definitely check out WHO's illustrated guide and audio exercises, to help you cope with stress the right way.
